The Ultimate Full Body Stretch?

The feeling of complete release you achieve in the Full Hang on the Pilates Cadillac is one of the most wonderful experiences a human body can have, and one that is hard to replicate in any other way. 

Completely suspended by your flexed feet in the fuzzies (the cosy, furry loops tied to the cross beams of the Cadillac) you feel utterly free, just like you did when you hung upside down from a climbing frame as a child. I love feeling each joint in my body opening with the gentle pull of gravity. 


You begin laying on the bed  and putting your feet in the fuzzies, making sure you can really flex your feet so they are completely secure. Then, if you have someone available to help they can take your arms and gently pull you off the bed until you're hanging over the edge. Once you feel safe you can arch your spine, feeling every joint between the vertebrae open up allowing you to find more extension, take your hands to the floor in a gentle handstand, making sure you don't lose the gorgeous stretch throughout your body. It's probably a good idea to always make sure you have you someone else in the studio to help you get in and out of the Hang in case you get stuck!

Whilst we may not be able to get into studios for some time yet why not take the time to find a fully equipped studio near you who could give you the chance to experience the Full Hang, what I consider to be the ultimate full body stretch.
